Back Pain Relief

A Non-Surgical Approach to Lasting Relief

Chronic back pain is often linked to damaged or deteriorating spinal discs, which can lead to conditions such as degenerative disc disease, bulging or herniated discs, and nerve compression. These issues may contribute to limited mobility, disrupted sleep, and persistent discomfort.

At LifeGenix Institute, we offer an advanced, non-surgical treatment designed to support disc repair and restore function without spinal fusion or discectomy. This targeted approach addresses the underlying cause of disc-related back pain, helping patients regain mobility while avoiding the risks and extended recovery times associated with surgery.

A Deeper Look at Your Health

You could be dealing with a spinal disc issue, such as a damaged or torn disc. Left untreated, this can lead to degenerative disc disease, bulging or herniated discs, sciatica, or even numbness in your legs and feet. Don’t ignore the signs—your back matters!

Is Back or Neck Pain Holding You Back?

  • Pain that won’t go away? If stiffness, discomfort, or nerve pain is limiting your movement, the problem could be damaged spinal discs.
  • Told surgery is your only option? A non-surgical, minimally invasive alternative may help repair discs and restore function without long recovery times.

Break Free from Joint Pain

The DISCSEEL® Procedure is an excellent choice for athletes or anyone with an active lifestyle who would like to restore their mobility. Unlike surgery, the DISCSEEL® Procedure can be done in a single outpatient visit. Most patients are discharged 30 minutes following treatment and are able to return to their normal daily activities within days.

  • Annular Tears
  • Degenerative Disc Disease
  • Herniated Discs
  • Bulging Disc
  • Spinal Stenosis
  • Sciatica
  • Chronic Lower Back Pain
  • Abrupt Injury

The DISCSEEL Procedure treats the following conditions:

The DISCSEEL® Procedure is a minimally invasive, non-surgical treatment for back pain that harnesses your body’s inherent healing ability. By leveraging Fibrin, this innovative procedure effectively seals tears in damaged spinal discs and stimulates the body’s natural regenerative processes. This precise, image-guided injection facilitates the repair and recovery of your spinal discs, which typically struggle to heal on their own.

This revolutionary procedure is yielding positive results for many patients around the world. It has changed the lives of more than 12,500 chronic back pain sufferers in multiple countries to date. In a recent study, >82 percent of patients who failed all other treatments reported experiencing sustained relief beyond 3 years following the DISCSEEL® Procedure.*

What is the DISCSEEL® Procedure?

Instead of removing disc material or fusing vertebrae together, this procedure reinforces and seals damaged discs using a specialized biologic. This FDA-approved biologic treatment was originally developed for tissue repair in surgical applications and has since been adapted to promote healing in spinal discs.

How This Treatment Works

Seals Disc Tears and Supports Healing

Non-Surgical Biologic Healing Solution

30-Minute Solution with Proven Results

  • The Annulargram is the best test to evaluate if normal or abnormal-looking discs are leaking.
  • Demonstrates exactly where to inject Fibrin to seal disc tears.

Here are the facts:

The Annulargram is a pain-free test that identifies subtle tears in your discs that a traditional MRI or discography cannot see.
We test every disc in the region to identify even the most subtle disc tears. This allows us to be proactive, addressing small tears before they lead to large herniations or degeneration. The Annulargram is so important that its a necessary part of the DISCSEEL Procedure.

During your Annulargram, X-ray contrast is mixed with a little antibiotic, and is injected into the outer annulus fibrosus of your disc to identify subtle disc tears. Next, Fibrin is injected into each tear to immediately seal the disc. Over the following months, the Fibrin promotes disc tissue growth, sealing and healing previously torn discs.

Step One – The Annulargram™

The DISCSEEL® Procedure:

Step 1.

The DISCSEEL® Procedure addresses current and future pain issues by testing all spinal discs in the affected region during the Annulargram.

Fibrinogen, a protein present in blood plasma, works with the enzyme thrombin to create fibrin.

Fibrin then works by forming a fibrous mesh that impedes blood flow and encourages new tissue to grow, successfully healing cuts and tears.

When applied to torn and damaged spinal discs, fibrin immediately seals tears, stops leaking, and promotes the growth of new healthy tissue in the disc, which cannot heal without assistance.

The Diagnostic Test

Annulargram™

An Annulargram™ is the best test to evaluate if normal or abnormal-looking discs are torn and leaking.

  • Fibrin is INJECTED into the annulus fibrosus of the disc.
  • Injected Fibrin flows through the layers of the annulus and seals any existing tears.
  • SEALS tears preventing nucleus pulposus from leaking onto spinal nerves.
  • Fibrin creates an environment that promotes HEALING and new tissue GROWTH.

The Role of Fibrin in the DISCSEEL Procedure:

  • Fibrin is an FDA approved drug. Used off-label, similar to off-label use of corticosteroids in epidurals.
  • Non-autologous fibrin composed of prothrombin and fibrinogen.
  • Creates a polymer matrix that seals the annular tears.

What is Fibrin:

Fibrinogen, a protein present in blood plasma, works with the enzyme thrombin to create fibrin.

Fibrin then works by forming a fibrous mesh that impedes blood flow and encourages new tissue to grow, successfully healing cuts and tears.

When applied to torn and damaged spinal discs, fibrin immediately seals tears, stops leaking, and promotes the growth of new healthy tissue in the disc, which cannot heal without assistance.

Step Two – Fibrin

The DISCSEEL® Procedure:

Step 2.

Using Fibrin, a biologic agent, the treatment seals disc tears, prevents further leakage, and promotes new tissue growth, allowing the back to heal naturally.

  • Total Visit Time – Typically completed within a few hours, with the outpatient procedure itself lasting as little as 30 minutes.
  • Recovery – Most patients are up and moving the same day.
  • Long-Term Effectiveness – Reinforces spinal discs, reducing pain and improving function.

Unlike traditional spinal surgeries that alter the structure of the back, this image-guided approach precisely targets damaged discs while leaving healthy tissue untouched. By working with the body’s natural healing process, this treatment helps restore spinal stability and provides lasting pain relief without the risks of spinal fusion or discectomy.
